Rotary International is committed to the environment, and so is the Rotary Club of Montceau. It wants to help raise awareness among a broad public - including secondary school students - of all the issues relating to the climate, living organisms, water resources, etc., and which concern the future of our children and grandchildren. In 2023, we tackled the climate issue. In 2024, the gateway will be biodiversity.
To this end, the Montcellian club, together with the CPIE Pays de Bourgogne, with the support of the town council and with the active participation of not only schools but also businesses and associations in the urban community, and in the coalfield in particular, will again be holding a free all-day forum of events and meetings next year, open to everyone (exhibition stands and fun, informative, interactive and participatory workshops), This will be followed in the evening by a lecture given free of charge by Frédéric Sévelinge, SVT teacher at the Lycée La Prat's and scientific trainer at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon.
The lecture will be followed by a debate.
Beforehand, as this year, a competition for inventive solutions will be organised, the details of which will be announced in due course.
