    In a historical reconstruction, refurnishing a monument is not just about redecorating it, it is about trying to express its history and that of its inhabitants. This approach requires choices and choices to be made, and its implementation can be very different depending on the presence or absence of original documents and furniture. Between other reconstructed houses and the Perrusson villa, the differences as well as the similarities have nourished the project led by the Ecomuseum and accompanied by the Regional Conservation of Historic Monuments. From these experiences, a broader reflection is emerging on the interest and problems of re-furnishing.
    Maud Leyoudec is head curator of heritage at the Crozatier Museum in Le Puy-en-Velay. She took part in the restoration project of the Maison Mantin in Moulins (03) and directed the restoration of Robert Schuman's house in Scy-Chazelles (57).
    Kévin Prieur, a student on a master's degree in exhibition design and scenography, worked as an intern on the Villa Perrusson project, designing the spaces and researching the furniture.
    Michaël Vottero is a heritage curator at the Regional Conservation of Historic Monuments in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, and has followed several restoration projects.
