A few kilometres away from the Creusot, the many lakes and ponds are an invitation to refresh, relax, take a walk or enjoy fishing and water sports.

If you are looking for a truly relaxing way to enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that Le Creusot has to offer, there is simply no better place than a nearby lake or a water reservoir.

Outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with the many activities available : the joys of sailing, cruising along the canal du Centre, paddle boarding, kayaking, or taking a dip in one of the favourite swimming spots during your holidays in Le Creusot.

Heading south of Le Creusot, located only 10 minutes away, discover the Lake of Torcy. Originally created for water supplies of the canal du Centre, it is the perfect place to come and enjoy a wild natural setting and practice activities such a walking, fishing, windsurfing, rowing and canoeing.

Five kilometres further, in Blanzy, the lake of the Sorme is the largest drinking water reservoir in Saone et Loire. Fishing, sailing and birdwatching are best-loved activities at this 10 million-m3 reservoir.

The lake of Montaubry

East of Le Creusot, the lake of Montaubry offers very small, almost private beaches and quiet fishing spots. A 15 km footpath surrounds the lake for a pleasant walk in an exceptional natural setting. Little adventurers will love exploring and discovering all the fun things to do while sailing and water sports enthusiasts practice their favourite sports or enjoy pedal boating and water-skiing.

Another popular place to relax is the pond of Le Berthaud, located south-west of Le Creusot, close to the canal du Centre. It is ideal for walking, fishing windsurfing or simply enjoy a peaceful swim.
